Overview

Ruby Bot is one of the largest Hebrew-language AI platforms in Israel.
Our mission is to make AI feel accessible, human, simple and local. The platform serves a diverse audience, including students, teachers, adults who are not tech-savvy, creators, small business owners and anyone who wants to use AI naturally in Hebrew.

Why Ruby Bot Was Needed?

01

For many Israeli users using AI often felt:

  • English-first

  • complicated to use

  • culturally distant

  • intimidating for non-technical users

02

Users struggled with:

  • Language barrier

  • not knowing how AI could actually help them & support everyday tasks

  • feeling that AI “wasn’t for them”

03

This created a clear opportunity to build:

  • a simple, friendly AI platform in Hebrew

  • a culturally adapted experience

  • something that feels helpful, friendly and even enjoyable to use!

NOV 2022  Pilot

Released 1 Week after ChatGPT

Ruby Bot began as a living pilot built to learn.
Powered by advanced AI models adapted for Hebrew and local use the platform prioritized clarity and speed from the first interaction. By removing sign-up barriers and unnecessary complexity we enabled users to experience immediate value and adopt AI with confidence as the product evolved.

Instead of opening the platform for everyone we launched paid early-access. Hundreds of users who truly believed in the product and its value joined early, validating demand and allowing us to iterate, test stability and scale under real usage.

Once performance and reliability were proven, we opened monthly and annual subscriptions and growth accelerated naturally.

We realized the challenge wasn’t a lack of features, but too many possibilities.

We defined a clear foundation around core actions including chat, image creation, and personal AI agents, and structured them into simple, guided experiences.

These decisions were made before document based workflows and image generation became common, helping users understand what AI can do and adopt it gradually through clear Hebrew first guidance.

A Friendly Presence

Ruby Bot was designed as a friendly AI character. Its visual language blends modern technology with simplicity to create an experience that feels natural to interact with.

Each roadmap decision was evaluated using a simple framework:

  • Does this help users?

  • Does it simplify or complicate the experience?

  • Is this the right timing given product maturity and user readiness?

Our focus areas included:

  • continuous UX improvement to reduce friction for non-technical users

  • expanding capabilities only when they supported real use cases

  • improving stability and performance as adoption scaled

  • prioritizing based on direct user feedback and behavior

Key Learnings

  • Adoption happens when users feel safe, not when products feel powerful

  • Too many options create friction, clear starting points create momentum

  • The first interaction matters more than feature depth

  • Personality, language, and tone function as trust-building product mechanisms

  • Scalable products are built through real-world use before broad exposure

My Role

Founder and Product & UX Lead, responsible for end to end product ownership, from user discovery and UX decisions to roadmap prioritization, iteration, and scaling. Led cross functional collaboration and guided the product through pilot, early access, and growth.
